Damo Mitchell is one of the two joint head tutors and runs much of the training within the Xiantian college. He is particularly interested in the more classical ways of working and designs a great deal of the ACM modules within the school. He has particular passions for pulse diagnosis, energetic ways of working and the treatment of unusual diseases. As well as Chinese medicine, Damo also practises Nei Gong, Taijiquan, Baguazhang and Xingyiquan. He heads the Lotus Nei Gong School of Daoist Arts which has branches in several countries.
College Head Tutor
Rob Aspell is one of the two head tutors of the Xiantian college and runs a great deal of the teaching on the three-year-long Diploma course. He is trained in the TCM style of Chinese medicine and uses a combination of Acupuncture, Tui Na massage and herbal remedies from his clinics in North Wales and Manchester. Rob teaches and treats at the Shulan clinic in Manchester while runnning the Xiantian college. He is basically a very busy guy who spends all his time treating, teaching and furthering his own study of Chinese medicine!
Roni Edlund assists with the teaching on the three-year-long Diploma course. She is a university-qualified acupuncturist and Tui-Na-massage therapist as well as an experienced practitioner of the Daoist arts of Nei Gong, Taijiquan and Baguazhang. Roni specifically assists with much of the point location material within the school and helps with diagnostic skills and practical lessons. She is Damo’s partner and also assists with teaching in the Lotus Nei Gong school ,where she specialises in teaching alchemical methods for women.
Qi Gong Teacher
Tino is a long-time student of Damo Mitchell in the Daoist arts. He has studied Nei Gong and the internal martial arts for many years and has travelled through Asia, Europe and America with Damo continuing his studies. On the three-year-long Diploma training, Tino is working with Damo to help students develop a working understanding of their own energy system and the nature of Qi through the college’s Qi Gong syllabus. Tino also runs his own courses in Nei Gong as part of the senior teaching team in Lotus Nei Gong. He can be found teaching in the UK, Portugal and America.
Lauren is a full-time student of the Daoist arts as well as a Qi Gong instructor within the Lotus Nei Gong school. She is studying Chinese medicine at the current time as well as assisting with the organisation of both the Lotus Nei Gong school and the Xiantian college. Much of the administration and organisation of the course is down to Lauren’s efforts. If you put Damo and Rob in charge, everything would fall to pieces! Lauren is specifically involved in student admissions and is usually the first point of contact for people joining the college.
Jason is an organisational machine. Jason is in charge of all the important aspects of the college that take place behind the scenes. He organises the teaching dates, finds halls for us to use, deals with the governing bodies and keeps our insurance policies up to date. Basically, nothing would happen in the college without Jason! He also studies the Daoist arts with Damo and the Lotus Nei Gong school and specialises in Taijiquan.
